Public Involvement

Public Involvement - Agency coordination and public involvement are important to each phase of the alignment/corridor study process. Working together must begin at the start of the first phase and continue through project development. A properly designed and implemented public involvement program will ensure that:
(1) the needs and concerns of affected agencies, stakeholders, and the general public are understood and fully considered;

(2) interested groups and persons are involved in key decisions; and

(3) the public is informed of key decisions and progress of the study.
During the development of the Corridor Study and Environmental Document, there were over 30 meetings held in the communities - at chapter houses, schools, agencies, and with individuals along the corridor. When this project proceeds toward design, there will be additional meetings to keep the community informed.
